About

As a graduate from Davidson College with BA in Economics and a Minor in math, a career in art may seem unlikely, but her love of painting has always been in her blood.  As soon as Margo was old enough to hold a crayon, her mother, an artistic spirit herself, fostered her creative interests by always ensuring paper, paints and fun were near at hand.

Margo says of her work, “I have always been intrigued with the nature of big pales skies floating over silvery lakes and streams and so many of my pieces reflect these elements.  I rarely start a painting or encaustic with an image in mind.  I generally just start with a feeling and let the landscape or abstract take form… the result usually reflects the soothing colors of dusk or dawn and more often than not also have a dreamlike quality.”

In addition to her minimal landscapes, Margo also does abstracts, figures, and an occasional floral.  Her work is currently shown in her home and with the Charlotte Art Salon.  Much of her work is commission based.  She always enjoys working with clients to understand their hopes and melding them with her imagination.
